1. Hot Work Permit
This type of permit is issue for for hot work such as welding work. In this type of work, there are probability of fire.
Aramco approved fire watch and standby man are needed to protect the work site from fire. In some circumstances, standby man can bd fire watch.
Periodic gas testing are required for hot work permit. The frequency of gas test varies upto 4 hours.
2. Cold Work Permit
Cold work permit is issued for cold work such as sweeping, painting and formwork installation.
Only hand tools are used for cold work. There is no need of standby man and fire watch. It is very low risk activity.
3. Confined Space Entry Permit
Confined space entry permit is used in confined spaces such as manhole, excavation pits and tanks.
Confined space is a restricted area which is not designed for human occupancy. It has limited entry and limited exit.
Confined space entry plan is must to issue confined space entry permit.
Continuous or periodic gas testing is required while performing the job.
A standby man should have confined space entry log to fill. Standby man fills this log sheet when an entrant enter in the confined space.
4. Equipment Opening And Line Breaking Permit (EOLB Permit)
This type of permit is used to open equipments and pipelines. This is most critical activity and required more supervision.
EOLB permit does not provide to all Aramco approved work permit receiver. There are lots of pre planning is done before opening an equipment which contain hydrocarbons.
